ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

CEWE Belgium NV strives to make its website www.cewe.lu compliant with the Federal Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (2.0), which implements the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and prescribes compliance with harmonised standards such as EN 301 549. EN 301 549 refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, which constitute a series of internationally recognised standards for digital accessibility. The Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act and Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance come into effect on the 28th of June 2025.

CEWE offers comprehensive service for the personalised design and creation of high-quality photo products. Customers can have their most cherished memories professionally printed in the form of photo books, calendars, greeting cards, photo gifts, wall art or photo prints. This service features user-friendly design options, intuitive software and modern printing technology that guarantee excellent results. Whether it's private memories, custom gifts or decorations – CEWE makes it possible to capture those special moments forever.

This declaration regarding the Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act applies to the website www.cewe.lu as well as mobile applications (CEWE Photo World, CEWE myPhotos, CEWE Passport Photo App) from CEWE Foundation & Co. KGaA.

Status of Compliance with Requirements

The website www.cewe.lu largely meets the essential requirements of the WCAG 2.2 (Conformance Level AA) in addition to the technical requirements outlined in the Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act/Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance.

The website's accessibility was tested using the following browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari.

Below we have summarised the most important aspects, divided according to the four accessibility criteria: perception, ease of use, comprehensibility and robustness.

Perception (sight & hearing)

  • Regarding contrast, font and layout, we use and support an easily readable, sufficiently sized and spaced font as well as sufficient colour contrasts for all text and visual elements.
  • Images feature easily comprehensible alternative text (exception: decorative elements). Key videos have optional subtitles that can also be paused, stopped and adjusted in speed and volume.

Ease of use (keyboard, motor skills)

  • Keyboard operation: All functions are possible with a keyboard. The sequence of key aspects is intuitive and easy to follow. When navigating with the keyboard, active elements are clearly highlighted.
  • Clickable areas & touch targets: Interactive elements are sufficiently large and have enough space between them and other elements. Navigation is possible in both portrait and landscape format, on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Comprehensibility We use clear and logical structures with short sentences and paragraphs. The navigation (main navigation and footer) uses consistent wording throughout. Our ordering process supports autofill assistance and offers a detailed error description for incorrectly filled form fields.

Robustness & Safety

Our website has been created using semantically correct HTML. In some cases, ARIA roles improve comprehensibility for screen readers. Payment forms are designed to be usable by all user groups and do not contain any hidden CAPTCHA challenges with visual puzzles.

Non-Accessible Content

The following content is not yet fully accessible:

  • Image editing functions are sometimes only partially usable.
  • Alternative text for rendered designs is not yet available.
  • The search function is not yet accessible.
  • The footer is not yet accessible.

We are continuing to work on the necessary technical developments to make this content available in an accessible format soon and we are doing everything we can to implement this as quickly as possible.

Should you encounter any accessibility issues during the CEWE ordering process, please refer to our accessible website at www.cewe.lu, where you'll find comprehensive information and support.
